How to play TapAtlas

Three daily world-facts games — Easy, Medium, and Hard. Five rounds each. Tap the place on the globe.

The idea

TapAtlas is a free daily geography game built around world facts. Each day you get five rounds. Every round gives you a fact about a place, and you tap where you think it is on a 3D globe. The closer your tap, the more points you score.

Everyone in the world gets the same five rounds on the same day, so scores are comparable and you can challenge friends.

Scoring

  • A tap within 1.5 km of the answer scores the full 100. Within 8 km scores 98, within 25 km scores 94, and after that the score falls off smoothly with distance. Tapping the wrong continent scores close to zero.
  • Later rounds are worth more. The five rounds are weighted 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, so a perfect day is 1000.
  • Each tap is graded: Bullseye, Close, Region, Distant, Miss.

Levels, resets, and streaks

  • There are three levels every day: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Each has its own board.
  • A new day starts at midnight UTC. You can only post a score for the current day. Past days live in the archive with the answers revealed.
  • Finish the daily rounds on consecutive days to build a streak. Miss a day and it resets.
  • Practice mode gives you unlimited random rounds that do not count toward the board.

Sharing

After you finish, share your score card. Friends who open the link get the same rounds you had, with your score hidden until they choose to reveal it or beat it. The board shows the day's top scores by level.

No account needed

You play as a guest. Your board name and progress are kept in this browser; we do not ask for an email or a login. Details are in the privacy policy.

The map

The globe uses open map data. India is drawn with its official external boundary, including Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in full.
